Whats Cooking? Blog Hop! Plum Crumble

Hi all :)
I love to bake and I'm always on the lookout for new recipes, so i have decided to attempt my first ever "Blog hop"

The basic idea is to create a weekly "hop" and collect some new recipes to try :) It can be any recipe you like, it doesn't have to be baking
I'm a day early here, but it will be held every Monday (Midnight on Sunday till midnight on Monday)

This week, i am sharing one of my very favourite recipes, Plum Crumble.

Now this is a very casual Chuck-It-All-In recipe, if you don't have half the ingredients don't worry! Just throw in what ever you have!

For the Filling:

Plums (However many you have at the time of baking)
A sprinkle of sugar
A smidge of nutmeg (not essential don't worry if you don't have it)

For The Crumble:

250g Plain flour
100g sugar
150g butter
couple of digestive biscuits (if you have them) roughly crushed
100g porridge oats


How To:

Pre heat the oven to 200c/180c fan/ gas mark 6
Obviously you'll need to chop your plums and remove the stones
If you have an apple corer use it. They are marvelous for getting the stones out, especially if the plums have just come out of the fridge and are a bit hard.
Add any other ingredients you fancy! Leftover apples? Throw them in! Sultanas? Go for it! 
Pop them in a pan,add a sprinkle of sugar and nutmeg, cover with water and let them simmer for 10minutes, just to soften.
Meanwhile, make your crumble mix.
Pop the flour and butter into a bowl and rub together, add the sugar,stir it in and do the same with the oats and biscuits, they add a lovely texture.

When your plums (and other ingredients) are nice and soft plop them in a baking dish and spread out to cover the bottom

Sprinkle the crumble on top 
Pop it in the oven and let bake for 30- 40mins until golden brown on top
Add custard/cream/ ice cream and enjoy!
